A SIOUX BEADED HIDE KNIFE SHEATH AND POUCH
The sheath, sinew sewn with linear pattern of red, white, translucent white and green beads, four terraced designs, a parfleche backed panel; the pouch of semi-oval form, decorated with geometric patterns in green, red, black and translucent white beads on a white beaded ground, reverse with geometric motifs in red, black, translucent white, pink, and purple beads, with a fringe border, four strips wrapped in red and green quillwork at base

Provenance
Given to the consignor's father and mother, while the father was the attending physican on the Sioux Reservation near Wood, South Dakota in the 1930's.
