A boxed silver-gilt and red lacquer solitaire Tea-set
marked P. Ovchinnikov with Imperial warrant, Moscow, 1890 and 1892
Comprising a bullet-shaped tea-pot, covered sugar-bowl and milk jug, the first two with domed covers with stepped finials, and scroll handles, and a cylindrical tea-glass-holder with scroll handle in the form of a mythological fish, all with foliate and floral decoration with birds and insects on red lacquer ground, together with a tea-strainer, sugar-tongs, lemon-fork, shovel and tea-spoon, all but the last partially lacquered, fully marked, in the original velvet lined wooden case, the cover stamped in Russian 'Court Manufacturer P.A. Ovchinnikov at Moscow and at St. Petersburg' with Imperial warrant
