A FRENCH SILVER AND MARBLE CENTERPIECE
Maker's mark of A. Debain, Paris, circa 1880
Comprising three elements: the marble centerpiece with silver mounts in the form of a rotunda with six corinthian columns on a circular stepped base, enclosing an altar with a burning flame, the entablature with an openwork frieze of vitruvian foliate scrolls, the removable domed cover with pierced diaperwork surmounted by an urn-shaped finial with flame, flanked by two detachable mirror plateaux with a gallery, marked on plateaux, columns, altar, rim, and cover with post 1878 export mark
