A VICTORIAN SILVER CENTERPIECE
Maker's mark of Elkington & Co, Birmingham, 1873
On a sculptural tri-partite base, the central element resting on two lion's feet joined to an openwork base with thistles, shamrocks and Tudor rose, rising to a second tier of openwork with leaves with a vacant cartouche in the center, the third tier with the figures of the four Continents supporting an openwork basket with a faceted cut-glass circular dish, the centerpiece flanked on each side by two figural putti holding an acanthus stem supporting two smaller cut-glass faceted bowls, marked under base and central basket
