The circular box inlaid in white and black slip on the cover with a chrysanthemum medallion encircled by double lines, four cranes flying against a background of clouds, and a ring of linked circles set between double and single line borders, the rims of the cover and lower section inlaid in white slip with matching bands of fretwork, covered on the interior and exterior by a celadon glaze with dense crackle, rims unglazed, four spur marks on base
