A SILVER-INLAID IRON BOX
(early 20th century)
The large round box set on three stump feet inlaid on the upright sides with two 'double happiness' characters on opposite sides separated by square panels of confronted butterflies and two crossed Korean flags, all above a band of stylized florets; the slightly domed cover also inlaid in silver with a triple taeguk medallion within a large octagonal reserve of fretwork surrounded by a band of lotus flowers which enclose trigrams in their round centers and by two bands of ribbonate florets
