Tambanam Village on the Sepik River
of tall oval form, a face carved on the upper third, the circular eyes within shaped panels, shallow nose and projecting tongue which falls to a central raised vertical board pierced at intervals for fiber ties, the whole carved in low relief with scrolls, triangles about the border, painted pinkish-brown, black and white, double handle of wood and fiber on the reverse
