KUNIYOSHI: oban tate-e (35.8 x 26.3cm.); a set of two prints from the series Sono omokage hodoyoku utsushi-e, one subtitled Benkei and the other Taikomochi "A jester", one illustrating Benkei standing on a rock carrying a large bell on his back, with the series title as above; and the other of the outline of the first forming a silhouette of a profile of a jester, the first signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi giga and published by Kazusaya Iwakichi--very good impressions and color, the first with some minute worm holes some restored, the second with minor worm holes restored, slight stains on restorations and on edges, both with faint vertical center fold line (2)
