A SELECTION OF ORIGINAL ARTWORK
FROM THE BRITISH AMERICAN BANKNOTE COMPANY
The following lots contain original artwork from the archives of the British American Banknote Company. These were photographed, reduced and used by the engravers who created steel dies. The dies were used to prepare the plates from which various security documents were printed. Most were created during the middle of the twentieth century, and were used on stocks or bonds. Nearly all are unsigned. Most are charcoal, pencil or wash drawings on board or heavy paper. Some have notations indicating the clients for whom they were prepared or production instructions. Condition varies considerably. Large lots should be viewed by potential bidders.
