The Velie Boys, executed circa 1913, was painted in Gloucester and was commissioned by Stephen Henry Velie of Kansas City, Missouri. It depicts Mr. Velie's two young sons: Craig Combes Velie (age 5) seated, and John Deere Velie (age 7) standing.
