(2 x 6¾ in.), two small punctures in blank portion, yellowed (by removal from old mount?), printed typographic border. Drawn on the Office of Discount & Deposit of the U.S. Bank at Washington. Jackson directs payment to General R[ichard] K[eith] Call of $272.00.
A check with a nice association interest. Call (d. 1862), a fellow Kentuckian, had been with Jackson on the Pensacola expedition and later, at Jackson's triumph in the Battle of New Orleans. He was brevetted to the rank of Captain for gallant conduct in both battles and remained in the Army until 1822.
