Autograph letter signed ("A Hamilton ADC," with large flourish) to Brigadier General George Clinton (in the Hudson Highlands); Head Quarters, Camp at Middle Brook [New Jersey], 10 June 1777. ½ page, folio, 327 x 204 mm. Washington's young aide writes at the General's request to Clinton, since April the Governor of New York and since March a Brigadier General in command of the Continental army in the Hudson Highlands: "By His Excellency's [Washington's] command, I am to desire you will give orders upon the Deputy clothier General at Picks-Kill [Peeks-kill, New York], for the necessary supply of the cloathing &c for the four companies raising under your direction. It is not however intended, that more shall be drawn, than a sufficiency for the number of men actually enlisted."
