London: Cassell and Company, 1914. 6 vols., (Vision of Hell, 2 vols.; Vision of Purgatory, 2 vols.; Vision of Paradise, 2 vols.), folio, 349 x 272 mm., dark red levant morocco, covers with a triple gilt-rule enclosing a broad dentelle border, large central panel with light blue morocco gilt onlaid flower ornaments on each side, gilt centerpiece of interlocking "D"s framed by a morocco onlaid hanging cape in two shades of green and surmounted by white and tan morocco onlaid masks of Comedy and Tragedy, spines in six compartments with five raised bands, gilt-lettered in two compartments, alternating onlaid morocco mask in the rest, turn-ins with broad gilt grape and vine panel border, UPPER DOUBLURES SET WITH A COPPER MEDALLION OF DANTE WITH THE WORDS "DANTE" AND "IRVING", 46mm. diameter, on a large stamped panel of calf stained in black and red to an Art Nouveau-style design on brown background, dark green watered silk free endpages, t.e.g., others uncut, by LA BELLE SAUVAGE BINDERY, stamp-signed on the upper turn-ins, one inner joint cracked, slight rubbing to outer joints, silk of one endpage split at fore-edge, copper medallions with verdigrised patina. LIMITED "AUTOGRAPH" EDITION, number 35 of 55 copies, dedicated to and signed by Sir Henry Irving, watercolor frontispiece in each volume by W.
