Four hand-colored engraved celestial charts, single sheets, each approx. 500 x 584 mm., showing the constellations of the northern and southern skies in the form of classical and biblical figures, animals and objects, titles on decorative banner cartouches, the borders richly decorated with putti and clouds, two charts with vignettes of gazing astronomers and their assistants in lower borders, the charts FULLY COLORED AND HEIGHTENED IN GOLD BY A CONTEMPORARY HAND. (A few short mostly marginal fold repairs, paper repairs to outer blank margins, Hemisphaericum scenographicum australe chart with slight crease along center fold and unobtrusive small repair at center, affecting one letter of a caption).
