Together 5 original artworks, various sizes range from 269 x 190 mm. (10½ x 7½ in.) for the watercolor (overall size), and smaller for the black-and-white drawings; each matted.
Includes: Watercolor drawing reproduced as color plate facing p. 50 ("...the mandarins on each side, nodding politely..."), signed by Shepard at lower right ("E.S."); drawing for the title vignette (and again used on p. 16); drawing of Mr. Kneebreeches which appears on p. 15; drawing for illustration on p. 134 ("They were floating about above the top of the house..."); and the tailpiece vignette appearing on p. 165, signed by Shepard at lower left ("E.H.S.").
