A VICTORIAN SILVER GILT COFFEE POT, maker's mark of Robert Hennell, London, 1846, slightly waisted long necked with compressed spherical body, on four everted knurled supports, one side chased with drum playing Chinaman, with winged monster below, and vacant oval cartouche above, enclosed by scrolls and surrounded by flat chased and engraved foliage and flowers, other side with scene of a seated maiden with mirror and lap dog within garden and architecture, the shoulder with floral and scroll flat chased and engraved band, the highly upraised spout with conforming decoration, with partly beaded and further decorated high loop spout, the hinged raised cover quartered by flutes, flat chased with matted cartouches and foliage at intervals, with baluster finial--8¾in. (22.2cm.), gross weight 19oz.
