A VICTORIAN SILVER GILT COMPOTE, maker's mark of Henry Holland, London, 1863, the circular bowl with flaring sides, on partly lobed, long pedestal base, with broadly scalloped flat rim, the lobes chased with scroll enclosed flower within matting, the stem engraved with stiff leaf and acanthus bands, the center of bowl engraved with coat of arms, coronet and motto within thistle engraved circular cartouche, the sides chased with swirled alternate panels of trailing fruit or flowers, divided by flute, with shaped rim--8in.
