The lama (1235-1280) is seated in vajrasana on a double lotus base, his right hand in vitarkamudra and holding stem of lotus supporting sword, the left resting on his lap supporting a flaming ratna and holding stem of lotus surmounted by a manuscript, wearing patchwork cape, it's reverse engraved with Lantsha mantras, undergarment with inlaid border of silver and copper flower heads, his face with serene expression, silver inlaid eyes, copper lips, black paste inlaid beard, elongated earlobes, shaven hairdress, base with long inscription providing twice his name, once mentioning 'this portrait of Blos (=blo.gros).rgyal.mtshan', unsealed
