Lot Essay

Born in Edinburgh, Hutchison was a popular painter of genre and interiors. He trained at the Art School of the Board of Manufacturers and The Royal Scottish Academy Schools where he developed a self-assured, painterly technique. He exhibited extensively at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Glasgow Institute.
