A SUPERB RANGE OF BURGUNDIES, SHIPPED DIRECTLY FROM THE DOMAINES
For 15 years, we have been living in a golden age for Burgundy. No longer are superb bottles produced only by a small core of Domaines and Négociants. The know-how and the determination to produce great wines from the region's unique, historic sites are now more widespread. Of late, there have also been a string of excellent vintages.
We are grateful to more than 25 Domaines for their direct participation in our first International Burgundy auction. With production so small and little mature stock ever left in their cellars, the best Estates and Négociants very rarely consign their wines directly to auction. We are therefore delighted to present a broad scope of wines diverse in style and maturity and including many curiosities and unusual formats.
The following wines Lots 297-443 have all been shipped directly from the cellars in France where they have lain since bottling. A groupage shipment by temperature-controlled container has been arranged from Beaune especially for this sale. Condition and provenance therefore need no further mention. This section of the catalogue has been organised in alphabetical order, by Domaine.
We greatly hope that Burgundy enthusiasts and collectors will find much to awaken their interests.
