This is Mercurey's leading estate, and a superb source for both red and white wines. Long vinifications for the reds, with small barrel ageing, is followed, unusually, by assembly into giant oak tuns. This is designed to ensure a harmonious marriage of every element in each cuvée , and complete consistency from bottle to bottle. White wines are distinguished by their green gold colours, flinty and nutty aromas, and the balance between richness and fine acidity (which is rather rarely achieved with white Mercurey). AH
