MAISON OLIVIER LEFLAIVE
This is a specialist white Burgundy merchant-house founded in 1984 by members of the Leflaive family. Then, like now, demand for Domaine Leflaive wines far outstripped what the estate could supply, so buying-in grapes provided a welcome expansion route for Olivier and his cousins. The wine-maker is Franck Grux, who did his training at the family Domaine Roulot in Meursault. His first complete vintage with Olivier Leflaive was the 1989, when he took over from Jean-Marc Boillot. 1995 white Burgundies generally had excellent concentration, with fine acidity, and have aged well.
