MARGARET MITCHELL
Two letters from the author to her good friend, Father Joseph Lelen. The June 6, 1936 letter on personal stationery discusses her interest in the comparison between Scarlett O'Hara and the character Becky Sharp. In her February 17, 1939 letter, Ms. Mitchell states I have found it was impossible to make people believe that I had no connection with the film or casting, and I know nothing about Miss Vivien Leigh, having never seen her on the screen... Both signed in original black ink by Margaret Mitchell; together with the original stamped mailing envelopes, newspaper clippings regarding Father Lelan and Ms. Mitchell, a photograph of the author and a 1936 Margaret Mitchell and Her Novel Gone With The Wind handbook. Accompanied by a 1936 edition of Gone With The Wind, given to Dr. Lelen directly from the author. (7)
