A circa 1930 Georgian style stained pine desk belonging to Hollywood legend David Selznick. The desk, which was the focal point of Mr. Selznick's movie-making activity, was a fixture in his famous Hollywood home on Summit Drive. The producer, who was responsible for such classic films as Gone With The Wind and A Star Is Born, was a vice president at M.G.M. Studios before he founded Selznick International Pictures in 1936. With a rectangular molded top above a frieze centrally fitted with a slide over a drawer flanked by short drawers and a slide over a drawer, above a kneehole flanked by pedestals, one fitted with six drawers, the other fitted with two short drawers over two deep drawers panelled to simulate four drawers on bracket feet--30 1/2H x 106W x 32D in.
