Lot Essay

Pan of Rohallion, the first in a series of fountain figures sculpted by MacMonnies in the 1890's, was originally designed for the estate of Edward Adams in Seabright, New Jersey. One of the artist's most successful models, it was edited by both French and American foundries in several sizes.
