During the Wanli period, the Han dynasty Cao Quan Stele was discovered lying in the grass by the official Li Yixian. In the late Ming, the stele was broken into two pieces. A Wanli era colophon on this rubbing by Zhang Quan states that he obtained it directly from Li Yixian, proving its early date and rareness.
