AN ANTIQUE CARVED WOOD COURT NECKLACE, CHAO ZHU
Composed of one hundred and five wood beads, each carved with a floral scroll between lappet borders, separated by four cinnabar lacquered fotou beads to a matching fota, suspending a carved oval plaque reticulated with bats in flight amid clouds and above crested waves, to a dewdrop carved with precious objects, further enhanced by three carved wood bead tassels terminating in drops of matching material, the drops with filigree gilt-silver mounts and glass bead spacers, (three beads deficient, minor chips to beads), 18th/19th century
