The rounded sides of the bowl are delicately carved with low-relief petals continuing down the high splayed foot, the incurved rim is decorated with six chrysanthemum flowers in high relief, set in two clusters growing from leafy stems linked with loose rings, the domed cover with a chrysanthemum finial forming the central medallion of a larger flower carved in low relief, the semi-translucent stone with small areas of russet inclusions
