Lot Essay

This Aubusson carpet was most likely commissioned by Ohan Berberyan from the Aubusson workshops in the 1920's or 1930's. Ohan Berberyan had a very impressive carpet collection and commissioned carpets mainly from the Aubusson workshops with many designs based on his collection of antique carpets. In this case, he most likely drew inspiration from an antique Bessarabian carpet.
