The oval top with satinwood border engraved with interlaced floral sprays above a crossbanded frieze drawer, on paterae-capped bellflower-decorated square tapering legs with brass feet and leather casters, the handles replaced, inscribed in white chalk to the back of the door 7740-430

Lot Essay

This table is virtually identical to and possibly en suite with a pair of games tables illustrated in C. Claxton Stevens and S. Whittington, The Norman Adams Collection, 1983, p.327 and sold Sotheby's London, 7 November 1997, lot 60 (£38,900).
