Made in imitation of a rectangular screen mounted in a wood stand, one side molded in low relief and carved with Budai seated atop a straw mat, with panels of prunus sprays to the sides and quatrefoils above, the reverse carved with a peony sprig rising from between two tubular taperstick holders set atop the ledge formed by the bracket support, covered overall with a widely crackled glaze of slightly grayish sea-green color, the underside burnt brick red in the firing
