For a nearly identical bottle see Robert W. L. Kleiner, Chinese Snuff Bottles from the Collection of John Ault, Hong Kong, 1990, p. 99, pl. 173, where the author notes, "this bottle faithfully copies the silk pouches worn by well-dressed men of the period, even down to the lugs allowing it to be suspended by silk cords from the belt"

For another, very similar bottle, see Christie's, London, Chinese Snuff Bottles, April 5, 1971, lot 33 and also Hugh Moss, Chinese Snuff Bottles, No. 3, fig. 67, from an example from the Mack Collection
