A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE CARVING OF A DUCK
17TH/18TH CENTURY

Shown in a recumbent position with head turned backwards, the lotus stem grasped in its open beak trailing down either side of the flattened body, the wings carved with archaistic motifs and incised with fine feather markings, with a decorative band around the neck and incised borders or key scroll on the tail, the stone with some opaque white mottling; together with a small white jade carving of three lotus pods grouped together on their long stems, with a bird to one side and a frog on top, 18th/19th century (minor chips)
