A RARE PAIR OF PAINTED ENAMEL FAMILLE ROSE YELLOW-GROUND PEAR-SHAPED VASES
18TH CENTURY

Each well painted on the full body and slender, tall neck with scrolling peony meander, the leafy tendrils in shades of green and blue-green bearing large blossoms in shaded tones of rosy pink and lime green flanked by smaller blossoms in shaded blue and mauve shown in profile, the two registers separated by a band of interlocking ruyi lappets, all between a ruyi border at the mouth rim and a band of overlapping leaf tips below, the spreading pedestal foot encircled by a narrow band of crossed S-scrolls and florettes, all reserved on a bright lemon-yellow ground, the interior enameled in bright turquoise blue and the base white (some restoration)
