A PAIR OF CANTON FAMILLE ROSE PIERCED GARDEN SEATS

Each of the hollow barrel-shaped seats with two panels, one showing women at leisure, playing the qin, the flute, dancing, chatting, the other, also decorated with women only, depicting a procession, including a high-ranked person on a white horse, passing by a crowd standing around a pair seated at a table, watched by the inhabitants of a near-by house, set against a background of pink floral tendrils and birds, all between a circle of raised bosses, with a lotus petal panel at the base, and a ruyi collar containing pendent chrysanthemums encircling the upper section, the top with a pierced central medallion surrounded by four quatrefoil landscape panels, against a background of floral sprays, all within a key fret border (minor chips to bosses)
