DATED TO THE SIXTH MONTH OF THE GUIWEI YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1763, AND OF THE PERIOD

Finely carved and detailed with scenes of scholars and attendants in a mountain retreat, with a central pavilion nestled amidst the overhanging rocks, a scene of three scholars seated listening to another play the qin in a bamboo grove, and two other scholars walking along a mountain path with two attendants following behind, the inscription carved in kaishu on a large rockface on the reverse, of rich, reddish-brown color
