A SILVER-WIRE INLAID BRONZE ALMS BOWL
XUANDE FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL MARK, 17TH/18TH CENTURY

Heavily cast, the gently swelling sides rising from a flat foot, finely inlaid in the central register with four ogee panels, each enclosing a pair of confronted dragons, stylized mountains and clouds, together with a flaming pearl, a wan motif and a shou character, all set against a background of diaper pattern, between lotus petal panels at the foot and ruyi cloud forms alternating with pendent lotus buds at the mouth, the patina a deep, reddish brown (some dents and pitting)
