FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, ASSOCIATION COPY, belonging to the author's father Thomas Stevenson and signed by the latter on the half-title; at the end of the dedication and each of the 15 essays in the book, R.L. STEVENSON HAS WRITTEN in indelible purple pencil the name of the place where the piece was composed (totalling about 20 words in his holograph): with a typographical correction by the author on p. 232; 32-page publisher's catalogue dated "8.80" at end.
