A TERRACOTTA BUST OF A NOBLEMAN
FRENCH, SECOND HALF 18TH CENTURY, ATTRIBUTED TO JEAN-BAPTISTE BOUDARD

Possibly depicting a member of the Bourbon family, with his head turned to the left, wearing armor and the Order of the Golden Fleece, with his hair en que--11¾in. (30cm.) high, mounted on a fluted marble socle



This finely worked terracotta is close in physiognomy and costume to the various portraits made by Boudard of Don Filippo I (see F. Barocelli, Jean-Baptiste Boudard 1710-1768, Milan, 1990, p. 96-99, p. 236-238, pl. 48-49).
