LATE 18TH CENTURY, EACH STAMPED CRESSENT
Each with outscrolled back with baluster-turned crestrail above solid bar and pierced trellis splat, the rectangular padded seat covered in striped green and red silk, on turned tapering legs, one with paper label inscribed in pencil 'O', one inscribed on seatrail in ink '4'
Cressent, recorded as working in Paris at 66 rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin in the first quarter of the 19th century (see D. Ledoux-Lebard, Le Mobilier Français du XIXè Siècle, 1984, pp. 138-139). (2)
