The upper section with arched pedimented top with central cabinet door flanked by drawers above a fall front opening to reveal a baize-lined writing surface and fitted interior above three drawers on bracket feet (feet reduced, alterations)--75in. (195cm.) high, 52in. (132cm.) wide, 26in. (66cm.) deep

A bureau cabinet from Baden and another from Graz with similar outline and inlay to the offered lot but with additional marquetry decoration are illustrated in H. Kriesel, Die Kunst des Deutschen Möbels, vol. II, fig. 303 and fig. 401, and related South German cabinets were sold Christie's London, 7 December 1989, lot 137 and another Christie's London, 6 June 1991, lot 174.
