Lot Essay

The architectural form of this side table relates it to an example by Giovanni Socci in the Palazzo Pitti, illustrated in S. Chiarugi, Mobilieri in Toscana, 1994, vol. I, p.128, pl.131. Another related table from the Corsini collection was offered Sotheby's Florence, 26 June 1994, lot 736, and another was sold in these Rooms, 24 March 1994, lot 399.
