TURKEY POINT BILLY SMITH STATUE
A large bronze coated plaster sculpture of Turkey Point Billy Smith by Samuel Murray (former head of the Pennsylvania Acadamy of Fine Arts) Murray was a close friend of Thomas Eakins whose boxing paintings, most notably The Last Round, featured portraits of Turkey Point Billy Smith, an accomplished fighter in the late Nineteeth Century. The sculpture is signed with the artists name and dated '99 in the base. Also included is an original cabinet photograph of Billy Smith taken by Thomas Eakins which has Smith's address on the back- 31 inches.
