Lot Essay

The initials on the dog's collar were traditionally interpreted as 'Gonsales Kocks Fecit Antwerpen' [sic.].

The Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie, The Hague, date the present lot to circa 1665-70, on the basis of the costumes.
