John Paulet (1615-1655) son of John, 1st Baron Paulet and Elizabeth Kenn, was M.P. for Somerset from 1640-1642. During the Cival War he commanded a Royalist regiment and was stationed at Exeter until it was taken. During the Cromwellian era Paulet went abroad
Catherine, his wife , was the daughter of Sir Horatio Vere and Mary Tracey. She was mother to five children
