A collection of 53 valentines majority embossed and pierced paper lace, ornate cameo embossing, others with hand-coloured or chromolithographic centres applied with fabric flowers or ribbons, some scenic, some figurative, some with hand-coloured borders, or silver or gilded details, includes two mechanical valentines, makers include Dobbs, Dobbs Kidd & Co. and Windsor, the majority with printed verses c. 1860-80, in an album.
