A 19th Century shagreen case applied with a rectangular plaque engraved with the legend "A Ring and a Locket With the Hair of William Pitt, Born 28th May 1759, died 23rd January 1806", containing the said locket, a gilt-metal mounted glass-fronted fob-style example.
