ZA SILVER HOT WATER JUG, bearing marks for London, 1766, maker's mark probably that of John Robinson II (maker's mark worn), later chased and re-shaped, baluster on rim foot, one side engraved with crest within scroll and rocaille enclosed asymmetrical cartouche, flanked by broad chased and engraved floral, foliate scrolls, rocaille, scalework and trelliswork band, two floral bands flanking the squat spout, with leather covered scroll handle, the hinged domed chased cover topped by writhen finial--9½in. (22.8cm.) high, gross weight 16oz.
