Lot Essay

The twin brothers, Florus and Laurus, who were architects and stone masons, were born in Illyria during the 2nd century. They are jointly the patron saints of horses.

On August 18th, the Feast Day of Florus and Laurus, it is the Russian custom to drive horses to a river or pond, the water is then blessed and the animals bathed.
