EIGHT ENGLISH SILVER CADDY SPOONS
VARIOUS DATES AND MAKERS
The first two formed as jockey caps worked in filigree, apparently unmarked--the larger 2 1/8in. (5.4cm.) long; the third formed as a jockey cap, maker's mark of Joseph Taylor, Birmingham, 1797-- 1 7/8in. (4.8cm.) long; the fourth shell form, the tab handle with bright-cut engraving and with the initials EH, maker's mark of John Shea, London, 1806--2½in. (6.4cm.) long, the fifth shovel form, Birmingham, 1809, maker's mark unclear--2 7/8in. (7.4cm.) long; the sixth shell form, the tab handle with bright-cut engraving, maker's mark of Peter and Jonathan Bateman, London, 1810--2¼in. (5.7cm.) long, the seventh King's pattern with shell bowl, London, 1818, maker's mark GK--4in.
